Our sturdy XYZ manipulators compliment our X-Y plate system having three base translators custom machined from solid ground steel and incorporate stainless steel cross roller bearings. These in turn feature a swivel base with quick lock action and adjustable stop. A radial arm extends from the swivel base and supports the Z-axial movement. This has an additional quick swivel recording head base for easy electrode change. The Z-axial movement features coarse control with a thumb screw and fine movement by means of a Piezo actuated flexure system. In total there are seven adjustable axes and a range of fixed adjustments for precise angle of approach to suit the preparation and microscope objectives.

The Piezo drive system comprises a voltage amplifier unit and actuator advance knob. Output for the Piezo element is from the rear of the control knob box so that it can be arranged close to the manipulator for ease of use and minimises trailing wires across the optical table. A voltage output from the voltage amplifier allows for position monitoring of the actuator. A flexure system is used to attain the 250um fine travel. Home
